Have always been a big proponent of being green long before it was “chic” to do so. When the Fairfield’s Earth Day Committee (FEDC) asked if I would donate my time helping them set up a website for their annual “green” celebration, they didn’t need to ask twice. Little known fact, I usually do at least one pro bona job per year for a local nonprofit. The timing for Earth Day was perfect.

Since the entire Celebration is managed by volunteers, I needed to pick a platform that was easy to use and cost next to nothing to own. WordPress is free, has great online support, and is quickly becoming a full-fledge Content Management System (CMS). So, registered the domain and created an account on under the FEDC’s name. Within a few days we had the official Fairfield’s Earth Day Celebration website up and running (based on the Coraline theme).

The event features great food, contests, and exhibitors (local residents, organizations, and businesses) that are leading green initiatives throughout Fairfield County. This year the event will be held 5/10 at the Fairfield Warde High School on Melville Avenue but since this may change from year to year, visit the site for the latest information.

    Natalie Portman Raps

When I first saw this on SNL I was rolling. Natalie Portman does gangsta. Awesome! Even though The Lonely Island won a 2007 Emmy award for Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics for their video Dick in a Box with Justin Timberlake, this one just seemed to have an edge less contrived.

The Lonely Island BTW is the comedy team of Akiva Schaffer, Andy Samberg, and Jorma Taccone and are the creative genius behind a lot of the SNL Digital Shorts.
