    500 Most (Over)Used Passwords

I wanted to repost this list from a blog that seems to have become defunct.

The subject: passwords… and how as human beings we tend to gravitate to the same ones. Even the “clever” ones like ncc1701 (number of the Starship Enterprise) and thx1138 (George Lucas’ first movie) are not so clever.

Approximately 1 out of 9 people use at least one password on the list and 1 out of 50 people use one in the top 20.

So, if you see your password listed below, your should probably change it.

    Gauging Anxiety Around the World

If you ever wondered just how nervous other countries are about terrorism and the economy then surf on over to AnxietyIndex. The site is brought to you by international marketing communications company JWT as a tool to help brands gauge consumer anxiety.

In times of heightened consumer anxiety, what brands need is real-time data that can help them navigate a rapidly changing landscape—they need answers to new questions and a point of view on the types of businesses and business practices that will emerge.

The index examines safety and security concerns—the threat of terrorism, potential and current military hostilities, crime, etc.—and economic worries, such as the cost of health care, the cost of living and job security.

The idea is if you understand what consumers are worried about then you can make a more informed decision about your marketing strategy.

If your web presence has become so out-dated that you rather say you don’t have a website then it might be time to call a professional. And if you’re going to call a professional, you might as well call the best (I don’t recommend waiting this long though). Such was the case with CONNECT Computer, an IT company based in Fairfield County that provides comprehensive network solutions, application hosting, and disaster recovery and business continuity.

answerYES redesigned the entire website under the Umbraco open-source ASP.Net CMS with search-friendly site architecture and copy. We added new client-centric features like Live Chat and Citrix Assist for remote assistance. We setup CONNECT on Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn, and provided on-site training to their sales team.

In addition, CONNECT has retained answerYES for ongoing SEO, link building, and content development. We manage the company’s editorial calendar which includes social media updates and a monthly newsletter. Within the first 30 days of launch the new website generated over 1,000 unique visits. It consistently earns top-page ranking on Google for target keywords within the company’s local market. And this is just the beginning.

In short, Eldercare Made Simple are geriatric care consultants that provide families support coordinating on the full-spectrum of elderly services. As anyone who has ever been in the position of attending to an aging parent can attest to, this can a be quite challenging. There are so many things to consider from medical to legal to spiritual, it is nice to know you can turn to the hands-on consultants of Eldercare Made Simple.

Eldercare Made Simple was formed rapidly out of necessity, answerYES was asked to create a logo, a brochure, and a “simple” website as fast as possible. Everything had to be done within a couple of weeks. We also served as technical liaison between the client and all third-party vendors such as domain name registrar and hosting company. Since the website was based on the brochure, we were able to take advantage of the latest features of CSS3 and jQuery to create a nice, clean horizontal slider effect.
